Basic Financial Planning

How comfortable are you with your future finances? Do you have a financial plan? It's not just about retirement. It's about budgeting, planning, and investing for your future.

When it comes to the financial planning process, we utilize a tool called eMoney to assist clients in developing a financial plan. A plan includes the collaboration of members of the wealth advisory, fiduciary, and investment teams of First Citizens Wealth Management as well as coordination with outside professionals. By utilizing eMoney, we help clients visualize real-time planning scenarios such as buying or remodeling a home, paying for college, welcoming a new child, paying down debt, or the impact of retirement decisions.

Our team follows the CFP Board’s Practice Standards for the Financial Planning Process. CFP Board is a non-profit organization acting in the public interest by fostering professional standards in financial planning through its setting and enforcement of the education, experience, ethics and other requirements for CFP® certification. Generally, these steps include:

1. At first, we will ask you for information, so we can understand your personal and financial circumstances.

2. Then we will work with you to identify and select goals.

3. After you have chosen goals, we will analyze your current course of action and other approaches you might take.

4. Next, we will develop the financial planning recommendations.

5. Then we will present the financial planning recommendations to you, along with the information we considered to develop them.

6. After that, we will analyze and recommend actions, products, and services to implement the financial planning recommendations. We will work with you to decide which of the recommendations you would like to implement.

7. Then we will monitor our work and work with you to continuously update the plan.

Whether you need financial advice for a specific issue or need a comprehensive financial plan, getting in touch with our team is the first step to securing your financial future. Helping clients with financial planning needs forms the basis of what we do as we seek to fulfill our mission of Inspiring Financial Well-Being for Everyone. Basic financial planning is a complimentary service offered to all prospective and existing clients. Clients may select one of the following basic plan modules: Retirement, Estate, or Cash Flow/Budgeting. For clients requesting an advanced plan and ongoing relationship with us, we charge a flat fee for an initial written plan and ongoing plan updates. We are also working on offering advanced planning clients access to a secure client site which includes a vault for important documents and access to the reports and planning tools.

Don't put off planning any longer. Call us at 641-422-1600 or email wealth@myfcb.bank to schedule an appointment today.
